Primary school for Krimwijk II

November 2010 – To live in the Krimwijk II development in Voorschoten is to live in a green environment by the water. This newbuild development envisages about 660 dwellings, a multi-functional block of flats and a primary school with gymnasium. For the steel frame of the building, De Boer Snijbedrijf cut the joist bearing strips to the precise size.

The style of the 1930s, with its undulating lines and Jugendstil elements, pervades the new Krimwijk II housing development (also known as 'Park Allemansgeest'). These features can also be seen in the new school building, which includes the primary school itself, a library, crèche and gymnasium.

Evers Staalconstructies of Hillegom made the steel frame for the building. The intermediate floor joists take the form of integrated pre-tensioned floor beams, made up of beams with bearing strips. The bearing strips were cut to size by De Boer Snijbedrijf and welded to the beams by Evers Staalconstructie. So, the children of Krimwijk II will soon be able to make use of an aesthetically pleasing and sturdy building.
